“På vei” is a Norwegian language course for beginners, based on gradual and systematic progression throughout the full learning cycle. The material covers all objectives and competencies set out in the Norwegian curriculum for adult immigrants.

The series offers great flexibility for teaching and learning. The course has been designed to meet the varied needs of participants and is enriched with extensive digital resources. The individual components of the material are closely connected and complement one another. Key curriculum topics and cross-curricular themes are developed through a variety of texts and exercises available in the textbook, workbook, and online platform.

What is new in the På vei 2025 workbook?

The most important changes in the new edition:

• more exercises modelled on the Norskprøven exam,
• even stronger integration of the material with the curriculum,
• new and more varied exercises supporting individualized learning,
• a greater number of sample texts,
• clearer links between the textbook and the workbook.

Curriculum objectives have been even more closely integrated into the teaching material. More exercises preparing students for the Norskprøven exam have been added, and teachers also receive access to additional materials and tasks in the online resources.

“På vei Workbook”

The workbook is a direct companion to the textbook and contains a wide range of tasks linked to the texts in each chapter. In the new edition, it is easy to find exercises corresponding to specific content in the textbook. The material is divided into sections covering vocabulary and grammar, pronunciation and listening exercises, oral tasks, reading comprehension, and writing tasks.

The exercises help learners develop all language skills. Special emphasis is placed on spoken communication. Students have the opportunity to talk about their own experiences and opinions, take part in conversations and discussions, and work together to explain grammar and texts.

The new edition of the workbook includes more tasks directly aimed at preparation for the Norskprøven exam. Teachers will also find additional online exercises and teaching guides to support classroom work.

All audio recordings for the workbook are available on the online platform. Most listening exercises are based on short dialogues taken from everyday situations.

The workbook includes three conversation games for small-group work. They can be used repeatedly throughout the course, for example as a way to review the material.
