Jan Guillou, Swedish writer and journalist. he worked for the Swedish magazines FIBaktuellt, Folket and Bild/Kulturfront, and hosted the TV programs Magazinet (1981–1984), Rekordmagazinet and Grabbarna på Fagerhult. In 1984, he won the Stora journalistpriset press award. In the years 2000-2004 he was the head of the Swedish press organization Publicistklubben.

As an author, he is best known for a series of books about the fictional Swedish intelligence agent Carl Hamilton and the Tempelriddaren trilogy, as well as the book Ondskan, partly based on his own biography - a study of evil and violence based on the example of the fate of 14-year-old Erik, beaten by his sadistic father.
