Mål 1 - Lärobok is the first part of the series and a textbook for learning Swedish. It is a basic learning resource for SFI B - an introduction to the Swedish language.

Gradual progression and structured learning support

Mål 1 Textbook (Lärobok) is a learning resource for immigrants, adults and young people who need structured support during a language course or while studying independently. Using the material in the textbook, workbook (sold separately), online resources and interactive exercises, learners can study Swedish at their own pace.

Mål Textbook

The Mål textbook consists of ten chapters covering a variety of topics and different types of texts. Each text is followed by relevant exercises. All texts are available as audio recordings, and every chapter also includes listening exercises.

Workbook

The workbook helps learners organise their knowledge and practise the grammar and language topics introduced in the textbook. See Mål 1 Övningsbok.

You can continue learning with Mål online. Free supplementary materials include videos, interactive online exercises and numerous audio files.

How to work with the Mål 1 books:

Textbook

The chapters in the Mål books cover one or more topics, for example emotions, colloquial language and slang.

Texts and everyday exercises

Learners work with different types of texts, including narrative and descriptive texts, informational texts and dialogues. They also become familiar with forms, text messages, emails and bills, helping them handle everyday situations more confidently.

Practice

Through texts covering a variety of topics, learners practise new words and complete exercises in reading comprehension, vocabulary, discussion and grammar. The book also includes listening exercises as well as stress and pronunciation practice.

Workbook (sold separately in our store)

The knowledge introduced in the textbook can be put into practice in the workbook and through interactive exercises. Reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar exercises help consolidate the skills you have learned.

Review and discuss

At the end of each textbook chapter, visual material and photographs provide a basis for spoken communication. The workbook contains additional exercises based on describing pictures.
