Description
Rivstart A1/A2 Textbook – Second Edition
The Rivstart series have been helping students from all over the world learn Swedish independently or during a course for years, enabling them to use the language in practice without obstacles. The material is diverse and organized in a clear and straightforward manner, suitable for students who want to and are capable of learning on their own. Both the textbook and the exercise book contain many interesting tasks and tests organized in a clear and transparent way. From the very beginning, emphasis is placed on correct pronunciation, with appropriately designed tasks for the student serving this purpose.
The textbook prepares students well for communicating in everyday situations as well as in a professional environment. For clarity of communication, new, intuitive markings of tenses in Swedish have been used. The present tenses are: presens perfekt (have spoken), presens (speaks), and presens futurum (will speak). The past tenses are: preteritum perfekt (had spoken), preteritum (spoke), and preteritum futurum (was going to speak). This makes it clear that the Swedish language has two tense systems, and their names additionally indicate how they are formed.
At the end of the book, there is a section dedicated to reviewing grammatical topics and summarizing pronunciation rules. The entire content is designed to facilitate the student's independent learning.

Why is it worth studying with the Rivstart series?
- It is a modern series that perfectly meets the needs of contemporary foreign language students.
- You receive immense support from the publisher in the form of a wealth of additional language materials.
- Achieving this language level gives you the opportunity to work in Sweden.
- The material contained in this series of textbooks will help you prepare for Swedish language exams, such as Swedex or TISUS, which is why we recommend them to anyone taking such external Swedish language exams.
Swedex Exam

The international Swedex certificate confirms knowledge of the Swedish language at levels A2-C1. It may be useful for those intending to live and work in Sweden, as well as for those wishing to work in a Swedish company in Poland. The exam consists of a written and oral part. The written part includes elements such as listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and writing short functional forms, including a personal letter.
Why is it worth passing this exam?
The document verifies our language skills, which are highly valued and useful in the job market, both in Sweden and other countries.
You will receive written confirmation of the level you have achieved (for example, if you are learning as a hobby).
Tisus Exam

Test i svenska för universitets- och högskolestudier (TISUS) – a state exam assessing knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 (according to the European Council's criteria) and enabling enrollment in higher education in Sweden. The exam consists of three parts:
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
You can receive one of two grades: passed (godkänd) or failed (underkänd).
Why is it worth passing this exam?
The TISUS exam is a qualifying exam for Swedish language studies at universities and higher education institutions in Sweden. It confirms proficiency in the language at a level that allows for studying in Swedish.
If you do not have another document (e.g., a certificate with grades) confirming your level of Swedish, you will most likely need to pass the TISUS exam to be able to study at a higher education institution.
